UK debit card transactions made online may now require additional authentication. This is because of a new regulation known as SCA (Strong Customer Authentication) designed to make your online payments across all websites safer and more secure than ever.
What this means is that when you make a deposit, you may be asked by your bank to confirm the transaction in your banking app before the deposit is processed. It’s a quick process and usually takes just a few seconds.
It’s unlikely you will be asked to confirm the transaction every time you make a deposit, but there will be times when you will need to do so.
